TRENDING AI NEWS
What happened: Agibot, a Shanghai-based robotics startup founded by former Huawei "Genius Youth" recruit Peng Zhihui, has launched a family of humanoid robots designed to rival Tesla's Optimus.
Here’s the deets:
The Agibot family comes with five models of wheeled and biped humanoid robots for various applications.
The Yuanzheng A2 biped robot stands 175cm tall, weighs 55kg, and can perform delicate tasks.
Robots are equipped with AI-powered sensors for vision, hearing, and understanding of text, audio, and visual information.
The company plans to start the shipping of the humanoid robots from October, with a target of 300 units by year-end.
👀 China's humanoid robot market is estimated to reach 20 billion yuan (US$2.8 billion) by 2026.

What happened: OpenAI has launched a new feature that allows corporate customers to customize its most powerful AI model, GPT-4o, using their own company data. This feature, known as ‘Fine-tuning’, will be available starting today.
Here’s what to expect:
Allows GPT-4o to be trained on additional information for specific and specialized tasks or subject areas.
Customers must upload their data to OpenAI's servers for the customization process.
The fine-tuning process takes an average of one to two hours.
Currently, only text-based data can be used for fine-tuning, not images or other content types.
It comes with 1 million free training tokens per day for GPT-4o and 2 million for GPT-4o mini through Sept. 23.
It requires $25 per million tokens for training, $3.75 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens for deployment.
Fine-tuned models have shown excellent results in benchmarks, such as Distyl AI's top performance in the BIRD-SQL benchmark.
💡This is the first time fine-tuning has been available for GPT-4o or its predecessor GPT-4.
What happened: Swiss startup FinalSpark has introduced a service that allows scientists to rent cloud access to "biocomputers" made of human brain cells for $500 a month.
The goal is to create AI systems that use significantly less energy than current technologies.
Here’s the deets:
The system uses organoids—clusters of human brain cells—that can function and compute for up to 100 days.
AI models are trained with dopamine for positive reinforcement and electrical signals for negative reinforcement, mimicking natural neural processes.
FinalSpark claims these biocomputers could be 100,000 times more efficient than traditional silicon technology for AI training.

💡 While promising in terms of energy efficiency and potential capabilities, it also introduces new ethical and scientific challenges that will need to be addressed as the technology develops.
